It’s time to celebrate Pride! Saturday, June 1, marked the start of Pride Month and to mark the occasion, which is aimed at honoring the 1969 Stonewall uprising in Greenwich Village as well as members of the LGBTQ community, various food brands have released Pride-specific dishes and other merchandise.
For example, Baked By Melissa, which is famous for its bite-sized cupcakes, is offering three separate confection configurations, all of which are especially colorful and Pride-themed. The Love Pack, for instance, includes six tasty treats. Ten percent of net proceeds from the Pride collection will be donated to The LGBT Community Center in NYC.
What’s more? 2019 marks the fourth year in a row that the New York-based brand has celebrated Pride with specific merch.
KIND, on the other hand, is marking Pride, which runs through June 30, for the first time this year. Though the company has never before redesigned its packaging, an exception was made for the popular celebration. More specifically, the wrapper on KIND’s Pride Bar features a rainbow-colored design inspired by the Pride flag.

Furthermore, the bar itself is part of a larger company-wide initiative called Snack & Give Back. The multi-year program is designed to inspire inclusivity and empathy. “My dad often credited his survival to the kindness of strangers, and his experiences have taught me that kindness can be transformative,” explained KIND founder Daniel Lubetzky, whose father is a Holocaust survivor. “Through the Snack & Give Back Project, we’re hoping to direct more kindness to deserving groups and, in the process, elevate values like inclusivity and empathy.”
