Douglas Wilson Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Retired Lieutenant Douglas Lynn Wilson, a dedicated and beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and police officer. On October 19, 2023, at the age of 78, Lt. Wilson peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of service and compassion.

Lt. Wilson’s law enforcement career spanned several decades, during which he touched the lives of many. He began his journey with the University Park Police Department and later served with the Highland Park Police Department and the Addison Police Department. In 1997, he joined the Dallas County Hospital District Police Department, where he dedicated over 25 years of his life to service. Within the department, he held supervisory roles in the Communications and Internal Affairs Divisions, contributing significantly to the well-being of the community he served.

In addition to his commitment to law enforcement, Lt. Wilson honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, selflessly dedicating his time between 1965 and 1969 to ensure the safety and freedom of his fellow citizens.
