Lola Brooke has been on the rise for the last year but recently took a tough fall during a performance. Fortunately, she was able to quickly regain her bearings and turn the mishap into a joke.
The Brooklyn rapper performed her track “Here I Come” at a New York Fashion Week event on Monday (Sept. 11) when suddenly, while standing toward the front of the stage, she fell down to the ground where attendees stood. Fortunately, Brooke’s fans support her safety as much as her music, and one was able to catch her. Her backup dancer rushed to help and she quickly got back on stage to finish the performance.
The Shade Room shared footage of the fall on Instagram and the Arista Records artist commented, “Thank god I’m little, I fell in slow motion.” She then shared a hilarious TikTok to her own Instagram where she is posing for photos with the caption, “Before the first link,” and then transitions to a clip showing another angle of her fall with the caption, “After the first link.” Check out the videos below.
It is worth noting that Lola Brooke’s caption for her post read, “Who ready for new music tho ? #R&BLolaaaaa.” While the majority of her latest music has been gritty raps, she has previously ventured into singing on her early tracks like 2018’s “Not The Same.”
As for 2023, she has been present yet calculated in her releases. Her latest single was June’s “Blind Em,” her modern take on Clipse’s classic record “Grindin.'” In April, Brooke released “Just Relax” which sampled “The Choice Is Yours” by Black Sheep.
She got a major co-sign a month prior when Latto and Yung Miami jumped on the remix to her breakthrough single “Don’t Play With It” and even appeared in the video. Check it out below.
